Delaware

Project Title: Delaware DSP Recruitment/Retention Initiative

The goal of this initiative is to identify and encourage a unified vision to create and sustain a system to empower DSPs, providers and consumers with consistent, quality service provision to support a highly trained and qualified direct service workforce.

Delaware will use Intensive TA to:

  • Design, develop, and implement a professional organization/association/collaboration that will develop and strengthen direct support professionals.
  • Develop and maintain a statewide system cross populations/cross divisions to support direct support professionals for career development through continuing education, credentialing, and/or certification.
  • Provide DSPs opportunities to participate in leadership development that will facilitate full participation in legislative, personal and professional advocacy.
  • Organize and facilitate a unified statewide coalition comprised of empowered service providers (across all disabilities), individuals with disabilities, educational institutions and DSPs to support systems change in community based service provision.
Populations Served: Aging, ID/DD, Physical Disabilities, Mental Illness
