Support in Educational and Workplace Settings Across the Lifespan

Members of the direct service workforce assist individuals in a variety of settings, not just at home and other residential settings. They also assist people with disabilities to attend school and go to work in the community. In this session, presenters will discuss the unique training needs and competencies required for workers supporting individuals in educational and employment settings. Participants will learn about different training programs and models, discuss some of the challenges of providing support in these settings, and explore how workers can increase the chances of the people they support having successful transitions from school, to college, and to work.
