            <title>Enabling Caring Communities: Promoting Evidence-Based Practice in Caregiving</title>

            <description><![CDATA[The Johnson &amp; Johnson/Rosalynn Carter Institute Caregivers Program is pleased to announce a grant funding opportunity for non-profit community-based organizations implementing evidence-based caregiver support programs.<br />
<br />
Funding priorities are 1) caregivers caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and 2) Family caregivers of soldiers returning from deployment and living with traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and/or physical disability.  An Initial Interest Form MUST be submitted electronically by April 20, 2012.<br />

            <title>Area Health Education Centers</title>

            <description><![CDATA[The DHHS Health Resources and Services Administration announced a new funding opportunity aimed at training health care personnel. The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) programs aim to improve the health care workforces, especially primary care personnel in the health care services. AHEC focuses on interdisciplinary, community-based, primary care training programs.<br />
<br />
This funding opportunity announcement is for a five-year project period for AHEC Infrastructure Development awards and AHEC Point of Service Maintenance and Enhancement awards. An estimated $31,000,000 is available for 60 anticipated grants. The grant is especially aimed at development in rural and under served areas.<br />

The deadline to apply is February 15, 2012 8:00 PM ET and can be completed through <a class="wiki"  href="www.grants.gov" rel="">www.grants.gov</a>.             <title>Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program: Field Initiated Projects ...</title>

            <description><![CDATA[There is a new grant opportunity from the Department of Education, the Field Initiated (FI) Projects program. It aims to maximize the full inclusion and integration of individuals with disabilities through new methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology. Another purpose of the FI Projects program is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. This grant is for development activities, but research grants are also available (CFDA 84.133G-1). Development activities carried out under FI Project development grants must be research based. This grant opportunity is open a wide variety of grantees.<br />

            <title>Education and Training Administration Workforce Innovation Grants</title>

            <description><![CDATA[The Department of Labor <a class="wiki external" target="_blank" href="http://www.doleta.gov/workforce_innovation/pdf/wif_sga_press_release.pdf" rel="external">announced</a><img border="0" class="externallink" src="img/icons/external_link.gif" alt=" (external link)" /> on December 22, 2011 that approximately $98.5 million dollars would be available for Workforce Innovation Grants. In addition to receiving funding for programs that support and evaluate workforce development strategies such as innovative training programs, grantees will be given technical assistance. This is a great opportunity to improve training for DSPs!<br />
<br />
State workforce agencies, local workforce investment boards, and other institutions eligible for WIA Section 166 grants are encouraged to apply.<br />
